Essential Blues Harmonica Techniques

I’ve made a couple of videos demonstrating and briefly describing a collection of techniques that I consider essential for re-creating the classic ’50s Chicago Blues sound.

Part 1 concentrates on tongue-blocking techniques and part 2 on techniques that can be achieved with any embouchure.

There’s also an accompanying pdf with more description and diagrams too (I like making diagrams because I’m a dork).

These are constructed as demonstration and description rather than actual teaching. There’s no substitute for learning from a real-life teacher.

Of course, I always recommend you subscribe to bluesharmonica.com for the best instruction available (in my humble opinion) and you can always get in touch with me if you’re in Leeds or are comfortable with Skype.

Hope these are useful anyway.
